Honda Philippines Holds The Mechanic Skills Olympics Finals

Honda Philippines Inc. has just concluded its 16th Mechanic Skills Olympics on November 17, 2022 at the Honda Manufacturing Plant in Tanauan City, Batangas.

This year’s Champion is Mr. Alberto Alabar from Du Ek Sam – Talisay City, Cebu. This year’s winner brought home a Brand New Honda TMX125 and shall represent Honda Philippines in the Asia Oceania Mechanic Skills Contest in Thailand in 2023. Mr. Glenn Mark Bagorio from Elite Motorbikes Sales Corp. – San Jose City, Nueva Ecija and Mr. Arnel Habitchuela from Motortrade Topline, Inc. – Caloocan City are this year’s 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up, respectively.

This year’s Final Competition was participated by nine (9) motorcycle mechanics from all over the Philippines. The finalists were chosen amongst 115 pre-qualified mechanics who competed in the Regional Eliminations last June 2022. In the National Finals, contenders battled it out on time-bounded troubleshooting tests and theoretical examinations that showcased their diagnostic and repair abilities.

The Skills Olympics was postponed for two years due to COVID-19. But as Filipinos adapt to the new normal, HPI revived the competition to resume its thrust towards challenging its mechanics to enrich their knowledge and skills and further strengthen their customer support.

Honda continues to work towards its goal of ensuring a delightful experience for its customers through high quality services. The Skills Olympics is just one of the many avenues Honda Philippines is taking towards achieving this purpose. And it is without doubt, that Honda will continue developing new means to improve and to remain dedicated in providing outstanding services because its customers deserve nothing less.
