Building a Safe Community: Honda Empowers Young Filipinos to Practice Responsible Road Use

(HFI), in collaboration with the Department of Education - Schools Division Office (DepEd-SDO) of Santa Rosa City, partner schools and the city local government, recently conducted the Students on Safety (SOS) Program with the aim of bringing road safety education closer to young Filipino students through interactive learning sessions.

The road safety program was held across 11 beneficiary public schools in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, equipping more than 380 students aged 16 and above, including some faculty members with essential knowledge and the right mindset to become responsible road users.

Students gained valuable road safety awareness and learned about safe mobility habits at an early age, through learning sessions conducted by Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) certified instructors. The initiative also featured engaging activities and practical training that made road safety education a fun and enjoyable learning experience for the students.

The SOS Program reinforces HFI’s commitment to building a culture of road safety across generations and communities. It is part of Honda’s broader road safety efforts to help reduce road crash fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles. These efforts support Honda’s global goal of achieving zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050.

HFI encourages students to carry the importance of road safety on their everyday journeys and to make safe and responsible choices on the road. Through these actions, they can help foster a stronger culture of road safety and contribute to safer communities for generations to come.
