Tanauan City, 29th of November 2024 – Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) initiated a coastal clean-up activity along the coastline of Taal Lake, particularly in Barangays Boot, Wawa, and Gonzales. Taal Lake is a popular tourist spot known for its picturesque views of Taal Volcano. However, the area recently suffered significant devastation due to Typhoon Kristine, which caused severe flooding, landslides, damaged to homes and business establishments along the coastline. This CSR activity was undertaken in partnership with the City Environment & Natural Resources Office (CENRO), the local government units (LGU), and the communities of the mentioned Barangays in Tanauan City, Batangas.
Under the banner Honda ❤️ YOU campaign, HPI demonstrated its commitment to environmental preservation and restoration, as well as its dedication to promoting the health and welfare of the community.
Through the combined efforts of 37 volunteers comprising of Honda employees, CENRO, LGU and Barangay Boot, Wawa, and Gonzales communities, a total of 100 sacks of debris left by Typhoon Kristine were successfully cleared from the Taal coastal shoreline.
