Estoril, Portugal – June 13-14,2026: Filipino rider Alfonsi Daquigan etched his name into Philippine motorsports history after securing a podium finish during Round 2 of the Moto4 European Cup under the FIM MotoJunior World Championship at Circuito do Estoril, Portugal, held from June 13-14, 2026.
Representing Honda Asia Dream Racing, Daquigan delivered a standout performance throughout the weekend, culminating in a historic achievement as he became the first Filipino rider to achieve a podium finish in the Moto4 European Cup.

The weekend began positively for the young Filipino racer, who steadily improved his pace during the practice sessions. Daquigan finished 13th in Free Practice 1 with his best lap time of 1:48.531 before making a significant leap in Free Practice 2, where he climbed to 3rd place with his fastest lap of 1:47.371.
Carrying that momentum into qualifying, Daquigan continued to impress by securing 4th position on the grid during Q2 with his best lap time of 1:46.885, placing himself among the front-runners heading into race day.

Race 1 proved to be a landmark moment for Philippine motorcycle racing. Demonstrating exceptional racecraft, consistency, and determination, Daquigan battled among the leading riders throughout the race and crossed the finish line in 3rd place. His fastest lap of 1:46.104 showcased the pace needed to compete at the front of the highly competitive Moto4 field.
The podium finish marked a historic milestone, making Daquigan the first Filipino rider to stand on the Moto4 European Cup podium and further strengthening the Philippines' presence on the international racing stage.

Unfortunately, Race 2 did not end as expected after a promising start. While battling within the pack, Daquigan was involved in an unavoidable incident when a rider crashed directly in front of him. With no opportunity to avoid the fallen rider and motorcycle, the Honda Asia Dream Racing rider was forced to retire from the race and was classified as DNF (Did Not Finish).

Despite the unfortunate ending to the weekend, Daquigan leaves Estoril with valuable championship points, increased confidence, and a historic achievement that will be remembered in Philippine motorsports. His pace throughout the event demonstrated his ability to compete against Europe's best young riders and signals a bright future as he continues his journey through the Road to MotoGP™ development pathway.
With a historic podium now under his belt, Daquigan and Honda Asia Dream Racing turn their attention to the next round, determined to build on the momentum gained in Portugal.
