Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia | July 11–12, 2026 – Honda Philippines, Inc.’s young talents Carlsen Solis, #16, and Ronald Galzote, #7, continued their 2026 Idemitsu Honda Thailand Talent Cup participation with a determined performance during Round 2 at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, overcoming changing track conditions and fierce competition to gain valuable championship experience.

The weekend began with both riders steadily improving throughout the practice sessions. Solis showed encouraging pace by finishing 13th in Free Practice 1 with a best lap of 2:23.719 before ending Free Practice 2 in 14th with a 2:23.886. Galzote continued to build confidence around the demanding Sepang circuit, recording laps of 2:28.785 in FP1 and 2:28.019 in FP2 and finished 18th in both sessions.

’Qualifying saw Solis further improve his pace, clocking a 2:21.277 to secure 14th on the starting grid. Galzote also made progress with his best lap of 2:26.292, qualifying in 18th position.

Race 1, the downpour started to transform at the Sepang circuit, and during the race, they got into a challenging wet battlefield. Starting from 14th, Solis delivered an impressive ride, making the most of the slippery conditions to climb through the field and finish in an outstanding 6th place, while posting his fastest lap of 2:35.816. It was a strong display of composure and racecraft as he capitalized on every opportunity throughout the rain-soaked contest.

Galzote also faced the difficult wet conditions with determination, competing with his colleagues until he finished in 17th position, while continuing to gain valuable experience in mixed-weather racing. He recorded his fastest lap of 2:45.090 during the challenging encounter.
With dry conditions returning for Race 2, both riders continued their pursuit of stronger results. Solis maintained a competitive pace throughout the race and secured another point-scoring finish, finishing in 9th place, setting his best lap of 2:21.327. Galzote likewise demonstrated steady improvement, crossing the finish line in 15th with his fastest lap of 2:24.899, showing increased confidence and consistency as the weekend progressed.

Round 2 at Sepang highlighted the continued development of Honda Philippines, Inc.’s aspiring and sponsored riders as both competed against some of Southeast Asia's most promising and competitive young riders. Solis' remarkable top-six finish in the wet and another solid top-10 result in Race 2 reflected his growing competitiveness, while Galzote's consistent progress throughout the weekend underscored his commitment to learning and improving at every opportunity.
