Alfonsi Daquigan Showcases competitive edge at Moto4 European Cup Round 5 in Spain

Valencia, Spain | September 6, 2026 – Honda Asia Dream Racing Junior Team’s Alfonsi Daquigan displayed promising speed during Round 5 of the FIM MotoJunior World Championship Moto4 European Cup at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, despite suffering a pair of unfortunate DNF results in the races.

Daquigan started the weekend strongly, finishing 4th in both FP1 and FP2 with best lap times of 1:42.492 and 1:42.560, respectively. He continued to improve in the Practice session, posting his fastest lap of the weekend, 1:42.161, to place 9th overall.

The Honda Asia Dream Racing Junior Team rider then advanced to Q2 Group B, where he secured 4th position within his group. His qualifying effort earned him a 9th-place starting position on the grid for both races, putting him in a strong position to challenge for points.

After showing promising pace throughout the weekend, race day unfortunately did not deliver the results Daquigan had worked toward.

Starting from the third row in 9th position, he looked set to fight within the competitive midfield and potentially challenge for a top-ten finish. However, circumstances during Race 1 forced him to retire before reaching the checkered flag, resulting in a DNF.

Hoping for redemption in Race 2, Daquigan returned to the grid determined to capitalize on the speed he had displayed during practice and qualifying. Unfortunately, luck was again not on his side, and the young rider suffered another DNF, ending a difficult weekend without adding points to his championship tally.
