Honda One Make Race VisMin Series: Leg 2
The weather was fair and sunny, as early as 7:00 am people were slowly coming in pack choosing the clearer angle for a good view of the race. The riders were getting ready for the registration while others were checking up the condition of their machines. Thrilled with excitement and apprehension, the riders hurriedly lined up for registration. A total of 100 racers registered during the event. Known local riders like Vinjie Coloma and Ernie Daguio Jr. who were great rivals of the racing circuit also came together with other rookies from neighboring cities like Gen. Santos, Panabo, Tagum and Cotabato City.
Our very own Mr. Juno Villena Jr. gave his opening remarks to formally open the race proper. Despite the scorching heat of the sun, the riders and the crowd patiently waited for the race proper. The race started at exactly 12:30 noon and it was participated by new breed of riders from our very own dealers namely Desmark, Powercycle, Equiserve, Motor One, Honda Prestige Traders Corp., Bykehaus, Best Bike and Binos Marketing. Organized motorcycle club of the city joined also namely Moto-R, TMR, Nanto Systems, Natz and Bikes, Speedometrix, P Brothers and Enzo Racing.
Our beloved business partners even gave their full support and spared their time during the event namely Mr. Erick Rubinos and Larry Rubinos Jr., of Binos Marketing, Mr. Edgar Lao and Mrs. Jeanne Lao, of Bykehaus and Jied Motohaus, Mr. Chester Lim, of Belinda Enterprises and Mr. Erico Uy Jr., of Equiserve.
It was really a heart pounding race and the adrenalin was just at peak while racers speed up their motorcycles. Every second counts. The crowd cheered and loved how their idols maneuvered their bikes while competitors were left behind.
One of the promising rising stars of the racing circuit, Ernie Daguio Jr. of Powercycle racing team battled against the leading rider of TMR-MB101 Mark Francis Dayao and its wingman Rhowell Mangosong. The two riders from TMR-MB101 had a good tag team and execute their battle plan against Ernie Daguio. Along the race, Rhowell served as a screener to decelerate Ernie while Mark speeds up to get the first place, but Ernie was too slippery and had the chance and got away on the hair pin curve and chased Mark Francis. On the last lap, Ernie caught up Mark, and went straightaway on the finish line. Ernie swept off the first place for 3 three categories specifically Honda the BEAT class, 100-115 Novice Open and 125 Novice Open.
On the other hand, BEAT has already established its name in streets because its trendy, stylish yet powerful, now it had proven that it could also conquer the race track.. The introduction of Automatic Model Category in the race track added excitement and curiousity among the spectators. “ The Beat has a soft and elegant exterior, yet it was tough inside ” said by one of the riders who tested the BEAT on his hands. “ One thing I like with Honda Beat compared to other automatic bike I have driven is that its light and easy to maneuver especially on sharp curves. I could definitely tell that its stability on road plus its acceleration could pick up easily. I am even planning to get a new Honda Beat and modify it coz a minor modification on its parts could alter a big difference on its speed. The power of the Beat could speed up in a split seconds, and in racing, its not only skills that matters, but also the right bike with the right speed. Speed is the name of the game and Honda Beat is the real deal ” he added. On that day, the Honda Beat inflict curiosity among the race enthusiasts and audiences. They never thought that the newest breed of Honda’s automatic bike has also a good performance in racing. Some automatic motorcycle club members and modifiers even asked the riders if the performance parts of the Beat were modified but the riders replied that those bikes they drove were all stock. It withstand that Beat is not only a regular day to day automatic bike, but its agility and dynamics shows that its also sporty and fun to modify.
The race end up in the afternoon with the awarding ceremony and the winners celebrated their triumph with pride.
